At Coastside Nature Program, we offer an experience for children inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy and Forest School principles.
We are committed to cultivating a deep and meaningful connection between children and the natural world. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where children can explore, discover, and develop a profound sense of wonder and respect for nature. We believe that by immersing children in authentic outdoor experiences, we foster their curiosity, creativity, and ecological consciousness.
Through our nature-based curriculum, we celebrate children’s inherent learning competencies, building a foundation that creates a life-long love of learning. We aim to empower young learners to become compassionate stewards of the environment, equipped with the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the world around them.
Nature Schooling
Returning children to the outdoors –
A classroom without walls
The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences.

Environment
We are very fortunate to have two sites -
El Granada on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and our new site on Tunitas Creek Road on Thursdays and Fridays.
Utilizing both environments, we expose the children to all the coast has to offer. In our Tunitas Creek site we offer two bell tents for play and rest, a garden and many acres to hike and explore. Our El Granada site is in a beautiful park with a playground, Community Garden and miles of hiking trails.
